Masterclass | Chitarra battente a cinque cori with Francesco Loccisano

Francesco Loccisano, born and raised in Calabria, began studying classical guitar in 1985. After collaborating with various Calabrian artists, he joined Eugenio Bennato’s Taranta Power in 2005, engaging in intense international concert activity. His innate talent and great passion for the chitarra battente led him to develop a personal compositional, interpretive, and executive style appreciated by an increasingly wide audience. Collaborations with Carlos Saura for the docu-film “La Jota” and other significant partnerships, such as with Vinicio Capossela for the recording of the album “Le Canzoni della Cupa,” establish Loccisano as a virtuoso of the chitarra battente on the international scene. He is currently a chitarra battente teacher (the first in Italy) at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Nocera Terinese (Cz).
