Rita Botto draws on the energy of her Sicily to reconnect with the sonic roots that have become relevant today. She embodies the voice of the Mediterranean woman, narrating stories and emotions of an ancient land. A versatile and self-taught artist, her primary skill is communicativity. She possesses a powerful, flexible, and ironic Mediterranean voice. Her repertoire spans from Italian and Brazilian light music to the Afro-American registers of blues and jazz. Rita Botto even gives voice to the sounds of her own language: Sicilian. She has performed with Banda Ionica, Roy Paci, Carmen Consoli, Lautari, Alfio Antico, Ornella Vanoni, Nada, Giorgia, Mario Venuti, and many others.
